Volunteer

Do you have a little time to be a volunteer?

Volunteers are important vital to the ongoing operation of AGL Action Rescue Helicopter. Volunteering can be hard work, but its great fun and a great way to meet new friends.

Volunteering.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they share one common goal: a passion for the safety of Queensland families. While our rescue pilots are trained professionals, we need volunteer help in these areas:

  • Fundraising
  • Conducting tours
  • Guest speakers.

Help is appreciated in any of the these areas however, from time to time you may be asked to help in other areas such as Open Days or major fundraising.

Occasionally, people with specific skills are required for a one-time task, e.g. carpentry, data entry, etc. Hopefully when we need it, we can count on your support.

Becoming a volunteer is easy.

All you need is a willingness to learn, a desire to help, a love of meeting people, a smile and a little time. Volunteer hours are flexible and can be fitted around you.

What we want in a volunteer

  • Either gender
  • Aged 18 to 80+
  • Can work in a team
  • Enjoys meeting people
  • Has a half day spare each week or fortnight
  • Is neat and presentable
  • Has a good knowledge of, and is willing to learn more about, the service we represent
  • Customer service skills
  • Positive attitude.

Personal benefits.

Being a volunteer means that we do not pay you, however volunteering provides its own rewards. Our volunteers gain valuable experience, plus:

  • In-house on-the-job training
  • Social activities throughout the year
  • Opportunity to attend Open Days
  • Opportunity to attend the Service's hanger and behind-the-scenes areas
  • Most of all - satisfaction (and coffee/tea and biscuits)

How do I become a volunteer?

Just call us on (07) 5458 8700 and we’ll organise an interview. Thanks.
