10-02-08 - Man airlifted after excavator accident

A man was airlifted to hospital after being hit by an excavator while working on a pipeline west of the Sunshine Coast.

The man, in his 30s, was positioning a 110kg piece of piping in Yarraman when the excavator arm hit him in the back at about 8.30am today, a spokesman for ENERGEX Community Rescue Helicopter said.

He was airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a stable condition.
