23-01-07 - Young horserider airlifted after fall

A 10-year-old girl suffered head and neck injuries when she fell from her horse late yesterday afternoon.

The girl hit her head on a fence railing while riding on her parents' property near Nanango, a spokesperson for the ENERGEX Rescue Helicopter said.

Ambulance officers assessed her concussion on site before taking the decision to transport her to Nanango Hospital.

The young rider was then airlifted with her mother to Nambour Hospital for head and neck scans.

She is reported to be in a stable condition.
